The Vicar's Letter - 13/04/2025

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We come together to mark the beginning of Holy Week with the Palm Sunday celebrations. We process from the parish hall into the church to commemorate Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem and to welcome him by faith into our lives. Although Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem was joyful it also foreshadowed his suffering, crucifixion, death, and resurrection. We praise God with palm crosses in our hands to symbolise victory over sin.

Heavenly Father, who anointed your Son Jesus Christ with the Holy Spirit and with power to bring to the world the blessings of your kingdom: anoint your Church with the same Holy Spirit, that we who share in his suffering and his victory may bear witness to the gospel of salvation; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
