Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ
The experiences of what are happening around us can often disappoint us and affects our faith. We can easily give up because we do not see anything uplifting or the results we expected. In such times we are consumed by our worries and fail to recognise the emerging signs of goodness around us. The gospel story in Luke 24:13-35 challenge us to always stay alert to the possible presence of Jesus in our everyday walks of life. The disciples of Jesus were walking home from Jerusalem. They were sad and confused by Jesus’ death. They came to a sudden halt, they did not know where to turn, and lost hope for the future. However, it was in that state of hopelessness that Jesus joined them but somehow, they failed to recognise him as they walk with him. Today we will hear the stories from Watoto children Choir as they share testimonies about their lives and their walk with Jesus. I hope their experiences will inspire us in our own ongoing journey of faith with Jesus. It is my prayer that God will open our eyes, so that we can recognise Jesus in our midst and in our everyday troubles.
